Rediscovery of Stuyvesant No. 19!
Recently the savoyard helmet that was published by Bashford Dean back in 1914
as helmet number 19 of the world-renowned collection Rutherfurd Stuyvesant could be rediscovered and secured.
Currently there are conservational measures in progress. As soon as these provisions are completed the object will be introduced to the public. Stuyvesant was a founding member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York,
curator for the collection of arms and armour and member of the Board of Trustees between 1875 and 1909.
